Avid joins Final Draft, Evertz

Deal combines editing processes

Digital editing king Avid has joined with software companies Final Draft and Evertz to automate the process of creating closed captions and subtitles on projects. The MetaSync technology allows a producer to tie text or other kinds of data to specific times in a film or video while the program is being written on the front end, instead of in a separate program after editing is done.
