Working Title Films has acquired film rights to “The Baby Dinner,” Nancy Jo Sales’ tale of modern motherhood in Manhattan, and tapped Kate Robin to pen the script.
Sales’ story appeared as a New York magazine cover story in 1999. It revolves around her decision — as she approached the age of 35 — to become pregnant by first inviting a group of old boyfriends to a dinner party and then selecting one of them.
Robin has been a writer and producer on HBO’s “Six Feet Under.” Her darkly comic play “Intrigue With Faye” recently opened at the MCC Theater in Gotham with Benjamin Bratt and Julianna Margulies toplining and Jim Simpson directing.
Sales is repped by APA, Robin by UTA.
