Women in Film will fete actress Diane Lane, “Halloween” producer Debra Hill and Buena Vista Motion Pictures Group prexy Nina Jacobson with Crystal Awards on June 2 at the org’s annual joint Crystal and Lucy Awards ceremony.
Stockard Channing, Lily Tomlin, Fox Broadcasting Entertainment prexy Gail Berman, and Sheila Nevins, HBO’s executive VP of original programming, will be honored with Lucy nods.
The Lucys, named for Lucille Ball, recognize women and men whose excellence and innovation have enhanced the perception of women through the medium of TV.
The Crystals recognize women who, through their endurance and the excellence of their work, have helped to expand the role of women within the entertainment industry.
The dinner event, to be held at the Century Plaza Hotel, will also include the annual bestowal of the Kodak Vision Award and the Dorothy Arzner Director’s Award, which will be handed to underwater cinematographer Pauline Heaton and Debbie Allen, respectively.
“Each one of these remarkable women has contributed so much to the entertainment industry, not only by her talent but also by her inspiration,” said WIF prexy, and ICM agent, Iris Grossman. “They have helped change the way we look at the art forms of film and television, and indeed how we look at the world in which we live.”
WIF, which celebrates its 30th anniversary this year, is the leading nonprofit group dedicated to women in the global entertainment industry. Org’s Los Angeles chapter has more than 2,400 members.
