A correction was made to this article on Oct. 13, 2003.“Constantine” director Francis Lawrence has hired tyro writer Deborah Goncalves to script a dark comedy they are developing. Lawrence will produce and has an eye to direct the untitled project, the premise of which has been kept under wraps. Lensing began recently on Warner’s “Constantine,” a thriller based on DC/Vertigo’s horror comic “Hellblazer,” about a con artist who dabbles in the occult. Goncalves is repped by WMA and managed by Foursight Entertainment, which recently set up “Arrested Development” at New Line.
