Indie domestic and international distribution company Zenpix has acquired all domestic distribution rights to the Sundance comedy “A Foreign Affair,” starring David Arquette, Tim Blake Nelson and Emily Mortimer.
Pic will be released Stateside through indie distributor Innovation Film Group. Myriad Pictures acquired foreign distribution rights to pic earlier this month.
“Affair” is the debut feature of Dutch helmer Helmut Schleppi based on Geert Heetebrij’s screenplay.
Pic, produced by Black and White Films, tells the story of two naive brothers from small-town America (Arquette and Nelson) who after their doting mother passes away travel to Russia as part of the foreign affair singles program hoping to find a traditionally minded woman to take the place of mom. Whilst in Russia a Brit journalist (Mortimer) includes them in her documentary about the romance tours.
Pic, shot in St Petersberg was exec produced by Jackson.
Zenpix prexy Susan Jackson brokered deal with Innovation prexy Mark Borde and UTA’s Howard Cohen.
