Helmer David Lynch will receive a life achievement award at Sweden’s Stockholm Intl. Film Festival, which runs Nov. 13-23.
Honorary guest Lynch has selected five of his films for the “Lynch by Lynch” sidebar, and fest director Git Scheynius has scheduled a “Twin Peaks Night” on Nov 21.
Fest is dedicated to the late Katharine Hepburn, celebrated by the screening of Stanley Kramer’s “Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner” (1967). The 14th Stockholm showcase will spotlight Thai cinema.
Entries in the competition for the Bronze Horse include U.S. directors Catherine Hardwicke’s “Thirteen,” Tom MacCarthy’s “The Station Agent,” David Gordon Green’s “All the Real Girls” and Shari Springer Bergman and Robert Pulcini’s “American Splendor.”
