Prism sheds light on noms

NBC leads nets with 13, most from 'ER,' 'Ed,' 'Wing'

See nominees“The Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood,” “Changing Lanes,” “Narc,” “Skins” and “Salton Sea” paced the seventh annual Prism Awards nominations Tuesday.

The films nabbed two noms apiece for presenting accurate depictions of drug, alcohol and tobacco use.

Nominated thesps are Graham Greene (“Skin”), Samuel L. Jackson (“Lanes”), Ashley Judd (“Ya-Ya”), Val Kilmer (“Sea”) and Jason Patric (“Narc”).

On the TV side, the nominations were led by NBC with 13, most of which were garnered by “ER,” “Ed” and “The West Wing.” CBS, MTV, and VH1 received six apiece.

This is the first year for nominations for individual perfs in the feature, TV (comedy and drama) and telepic arenas. There were a record 313 submissions.

Kudofest is presented by the Entertainment Industries Council, in partnership with the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse/National Institutes of Health.

The Prism Awards ceremony is skedded for May 8. A tape of the event will be telecast by FX on May 25.
