Phoenix Pictures has come on board to produce gang thriller “Jumped In” by scribe Cheryl Guerriero.
Story centers around a teen from a privileged background who, after the murder of her sister, infiltrates a hard-core girl gang whose members she believes killed her in a botched robbery.
Title comes for a gang initiation rite, in which a prospective member is attacked by the rank-and-file until the leader calls for the beating to end. Afterwards, all gang members embrace one another and the new member to complete the ceremony.
Project will be produced by writer’s managers, Darlene Caamano and Noah Rosen. Caamano serves as producer, Rosen as executive producer.
“Jumped In” was brought into Phoenix by director of development David Thwaites, who will oversee the project along with Jeff Steele. Exec VP Andrew Kramer brokered the deal for Phoenix Pictures.
