HOLLYWOOD — New Line Cinema has acquired North American rights to “Laws of Attraction,” a romantic comedy starring Pierce Brosnan and Julianne Moore, from Intermedia Films.
Pic, which begins production June 16 in Dublin, is a tale of two New York divorce lawyers who face off inside and outside of court.
Directed by Peter Howitt, who most recently helmed “Johnny English,” pic was written by Aline Brosh McKenna, Karey Kirkpatrick, Robert Harling and Howitt.
Producing are David Friendly, Marc Turteltaub and Julie Durk of Deep River Prods. along with Beau St. Clair of Pierce Brosnan’s Irish Dreamtime.
Executive producers are Intermedia chairman Moritz Borman, production prexy Basil Iwanyk, Stratus Film Co. partners Bob Yari and Mark Gordon, and Stratus president Mark Gill. Ireland-based Arthur Lappin (“In America”) also exec produces.
Initial Entertainment Group is handling international sales.
