New Line charts Plath to publicity

Exec has worked on numerous Oscar campaigns

Lina J.C. Plath has been named director of national publicity at New Line Cinema. She previously held the same post at Fine Line Features.

Based in New York, Plath reports to senior VP publicity Clare Anne Darragh.

Plath has worked on such campaigns as the Oscar-nominated “Dancer in the Dark” and “Before Night Falls,” as well as “Anniversary Party,” “Saving Grace” and “Hedwig and the Angry Inch.”

She joined the company in 1999 from Miramax Films, where she worked on staff for two years on such titles as “Welcome to Sarajevo” and “Children of Heaven,” as well as the Academy Award campaigns for “Shakespeare in Love” and “Life Is Beautiful.”
