Myriad Pictures is in final negotiations to acquire all rights outside North America to “A Foreign Affair,” a dark comedy starring David Arquette, Tim Blake Nelson and Emily Mortimer.
Pic is the tale of two brothers from small-town America who, after the death of their doting mother, travel to Russia in hopes of finding a traditionally minded woman. There, a British journalist includes them in her documentary on Russian “romance tours.”
The debut feature of Dutch director Helmut Schleppi, with a screenplay by Geert Heetebrij, “A Foreign Affair” is a production of Black & White Films. Pic premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in the American Spectrum section.
Myriad will offer the film to buyers at this year’s Cannes Market.
