Low-coin ‘Dinner’ tops Phoenix Fest

Bob Odenkirk’s “Melvin Goes to Dinner,” starring Maura Tierney and David Cross, claimed honors for best pic and ensemble at the recently wrapped Phoenix Film Festival, which emphasizes low-budget filmmaking. John Carlos Frey’s “The Gatekeeper” nabbed director kudos and the audience award. Wayne Dickman picked up the Arizona filmmaker prize for “The Sum of One.”
