‘Lion’ prod’n roars

“Le Lion,” a feature based on the French novel of the same name by Joseph Kessel, is due to start filming near Johannesburg in July under the helm of French director Jose Pinheiro.

Adapted into a screenplay by Phi-lippe Setborn, the film will star Alain Delon. South African company DO Productions is facilitating.

The story is set in Kenya on a game reserve, but will be filmed at Lindbergh Lodge, a game reserve 300 miles outside of Johannesburg that has become a popular location for shoots with wildlife themes.
