Harris starts indie prod’n, distrib team Rogue Arts

Initial production is substance abuse drama 'Intoxicating'

Kirk Harris, former co-founder of the indie production and distribution company FilmKitchen, has assembled a team of indie filmmakers and execs to form film production and distribution company Rogue Arts.

Partners in the new company include helmer Mark David, former Accenture exec Tom Pellegrini, thesp Ron Gilbert, producer Tony Hewett and tech exec Stefan Jacobs. Don Franken will handle publicity efforts.

Rogue’s initial production is substance abuse drama “Intoxicating,” written by and starring Harris and directed by David. Pic co-stars John Savage, Eric Roberts and Camilla Overbye Roos.

Pics slated for limited distribution through Rogue include Anders Thomas Jensen’s Danish crime film “Flickering Lights” starring Ulrich Thomsen and Iben Hjejle. Rogue has also acquired “Brothers on Holy Ground,” a docu from former New York fireman Mike Lennon about the tragedy of 9/11 seen through the eyes of the men of FDNY and their families. Pic was recently profiled by Ted Koppel on ABC’s “Nightline.”

Company’s library includes four previous films produced and 15 titles distributed by FilmKitchen.
