Duo get ‘Lucky’ at New Line

Brown, Angelo to write celebrity dog script

Screenwriters Sam Brown and Jack Angelo have been tapped by New Line to pen “Lucky,” based on an original idea by New Line exec Mark Kaufman.

Cross-generational live-action family story concerns a sheltered movie star dog who goes out into the world to find the love of a boy. Project is being overseen by Kaufman, who is senior VP of music affairs and VP of production, and director of development Michele Weiss. No producer has been hired yet.

Brown and Angelo most recently penned “Centaur” for New Line.

The writing duo also is currently rewriting Intermedia’s “Happily Ever After.”
