Discovery Networks Latin America/Iberia has produced original doc “Discover the World of Nemo” in collaboration with Buena Vista Intl., based around the Disney-Pixar blockbuster “Finding Nemo.”
The half-hour doc explores the real world of the clown fish Nemo and his father, Marlin, as well as white sharks, hermit crabs, green turtles and other marine species featured in the film. The special is to air exclusively on the flagship Discovery Channel in mid-July.
“This partnership brings viewers two distinct and fascinating approaches to the same story by showing the real species and habitats that inspired Disney and Pixar Animation’s ingeniously creative tale of ‘Nemo,'” said Guillermo Sierra, VP of programming and production at Discovery Latin America.
John McManus, director of the National Center for Caribbean Coral Reef Research of the University of Miami, collaborated with Discovery on research.
