‘Delilah’ is dear to McConaughey

Par purchases Bisch, Bellin pitch

Paramount Pictures has tapped Matthew McConaughey to produce and possibly topline the romantic comedy “Dear Delilah” in hopes of duplicating the breakout success of “How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days.”

Studio has preemptively purchased a pitch from scribes Kevin Bisch and Andy Bellin about a womanizer with five sisters who ghostwrites a syndicated advice column under the pen name “Dear Delilah.” Complications ensue when the columnist is forced to hire an actress to portray Deliliah as the ostensible public face of the column.

The project will be produced through McConaughey’s jk livin shingle, with the ICM-repped McConaughey and manager Gus Gustawes on board as producers.

Par’s “How to Lose a Guy” has topped $102 million domestically in two months, the largest B.O. for any McConaughey film since 1996’s “A Time to Kill.”
