Pic deals with murder aboard the space station

Mace Neufeld will develop and produce the sci-fi thriller “Cosmonaut” for Warner Bros. Pictures.
Pic, still in early development, is based on the bestselling Australian novel by Peter McAllister that the studio optioned. It’s the story of the first murder in space aboard the Intl. Space Station.
Pic was set up by Mace Neufeld Prods.’ director of development Steven Rubenstein. Aditya Sood, VP production for Warner Bros Pictures, is exec overseeing pic, which is being developed with Teddy Tenenbaum, who will also take a producing credit.
Neufeld, whose production shingle has an overall deal at Sony, is also developing “Mazar i Sharif,” about a real-life U.S. takeover of an Afghanistan city, for Columbia Pictures; the psychological thriller “Seconds,” to be directed by Jon Amiel; Andrzet Bartkowiak’s “Pathfinder” for Paramount; and “Asylum” for Paramount Classics.
He most recently produced the Tom Clancy adaptation “The Sum of All Fears,” for helmer Phil Alden Robinson and Paramount. Pic starred Ben Affleck and Morgan Freeman.
