Content snares rights to Brit caper

Hamish Skeggs produces pic for Carnaby Prods

LONDON — Content Intl. has picked up worldwide sales rights to “Spivs,” a low-budget Brit gangster pic shooting in London.

The film, directed and co-written by Colin Teague, stars Ken Stott as a legendary East End con man, leading a team of tricksters, including Nick Moran, Kate Ashfield and Dominic Monaghan. When a simple job goes wrong, they find themselves protecting a couple of illegal immigrants against smugglers who want to sell them into the sex trade.

Pic is produced by Hamish Skeggs for Carnaby Prods., and finishes shooting Monday. Co-stars include Linda Bassett, Jack Dee and Paul Kaye.
