Creative Artists Agency has hired motion picture marketing strategist Megan Crawford, who most recently was MGM’s vice president of marketing strategy.
At the studio, she supervised all research functions for theatrical marketing and developed online marketing plans for each theatrical release. She also served as a liaison with MGM’s production execs from the development process to theatrical release.
“Megan has extensive experience working with filmmakers from the preview and testing process through pre-opening box office analysis,” CAA prexy Richard Lovett said. “She will be a powerful resource for CAA clients, providing a highly informed, strategic point of view in the marketing of their films.”
Crawford played a key role in the marketing of recent hits including “Legally Blonde” and “Die Another Day.” She spent almost 10 years with MGM in various marketing capacities before joining CAA this week.
Crawford, in a statement, said her studio experience and marketing expertise “will complement” the agency’s core business of representing filmmakers, screenwriters, actors and — more recently — global corporations.
