New Line Cinema has paid mid-six figures to acquire pitch “The Wedding Crashers” from scribes Steve Faber and Bob Fisher.

Tapestry Entertainment is attached to produce the romantic comedy about two guys who crash weddings to meet women — until one of the friends falls in love with a bridesmaid.

Project was brought into New Line exec VP Richard Brenner and VP Cale Boyter, who will oversee its development.

Faber and Fisher, who are repped by ICM and Colden, McKuin & Frankel, wrote “Criminal Procedure” for DreamWorks and Montecito Pictures. They also set up “We Are the Millers” at Immortal Entertainment.
