There were mercifully few reminders of the harsh old West in Gotham Sunday night when Sony unfurled the red carpet for the world preem of “The Missing.”
To be sure, a glittery Bryant Park Grill after-party was a welcome respite from the gut-wrenching late 19th century-set drama, which unspooled at Loews Lincoln Square.
Stars Cate Blanchett and a neatly shorn Tommy Lee Jones certainly cleaned up nicely, though a pregnant Blanchett begged off the festivities relatively early.
Director Ron Howard and Imagine partner Brain Grazer made the Sunday evening scene along with Revolution’s Joe Roth. Also on hand were co-stars Evan Rachel Wood and Jenna Boyd (who played daughters Lily and Dot Gilkeson) along with Jay Tavare and Aaron Eckhart.
Other minglers in the crowd were Keri Russell and Kevin Bacon along with the somewhat incongruous pairing of writer Salman Rushdie and boy rock band Hansen.
