Guild to present $10,000 scholarship award to USC

The Directors Guild of America has tapped Richard Belzer to host its DGA Honors gala Nov. 16 at the Waldorf Astoria, with Julianne Moore and SAG prexy Melissa Gilbert as presenters.

The guild also announced it will present a $10,000 scholarship award to the USC School of Cinema and Television; Dean Elizabeth Daley will be on hand to accept from director Pete Segal. Award was presented last year to the UCLA School of Theater, Film & Television.

“The Directors Guild of America Honors scholarship is given in support of cultivating the next generation of filmmakers,” said DGA prexy Michael Apted. “This award acknowledges the outstanding contribution that the USC Film Program has made to advance the study and art of filmmaking.”
