THQ, Konami call in wireless pact

Cyberbiz Brief

Vidgame publisher THQ has partnered with a subsidiary of Japanese game publisher Konami to release wireless titles on the NTT DoCoMo network.

The co-publishing deal with Konami Mobile and Online gives THQ, which has moved aggressively into wireless game production over the past couple of years, access to the single biggest wireless carrier of games in the world. Under the deal, five THQ games, as well as ringtones and game-related graphics will be available in Japan on DoCoMo’s booming i-mode service. The company plans to release new material monthly, with 15 games to be available by May.
