New Orleans fest will feature horror pix, online shorts
Horror house Hammer Films and Kevin Spacey’s Triggerstreet.com will be joining the New Orleans Media Experience, to take place Oct. 26- Nov. 1.
Hammer Films, which will be feted with daily screenings from its extensive library, is the house of screamers such as “Dracula Prince of Darkness,” “Dr. Jekyll and Sister Hyde,” “The Abominable Snowman” and “The Devil Rides Out.”
Triggerstreet.com, a web-based platform for the showcasing of up-and-coming talent in all aspects of the film industry, will be screening a selection of finalists and winning films from its Online Short Film Festival Series. Fest winners were selected by a panel of diverse talents such as Cameron Crowe, Danny DeVito, Mike Myers, Annette Benning, Sydney Pollack, Dan Jinks & Bruce Cohen, Liv Tyler, Sheryl Crow, Mike Nichols and U2’s Bono.
The New Orleans Media Experience, a pioneering convergence festival celebrating the best of film, music, advertising and videogames, is headed by a board of advisors including prominent industry leaders such as filmmaker Francis Ford Coppola, ICM’s Keith Boesky, TV chef Emeril Lagasse and multi-hyphenate David LaChapelle.
