America Online has promoted Kevin Conroy to exec VP and operating chief of its recently created AOL for Broadband division, putting him on the front line of AOL’s battle to control more of the rapidly expanding audience of broadband Net users.
Conroy, who reports to AOL for Broadband prexy Lisa Hook, will oversee all of the unit’s business operations and day-to-day running of the service. The giant Internet service provider plans to roll out a revised version of AOL for Broadband this summer.
