Cyberbiz Brief

Pinnacle Systems, which makes a range of software and hardware used for editing video, has purchased Dazzle, one of its competitors in the booming consumer end of the business, from SCM Microsystems for about $21.5 million in stock. Deal is expected to close this quarter.

Pinnacle prexy-CEO J. Kim Fennell said the move would further extend the company’s lead in market share in the consumer end of video editing; it also broadens its overall range of offerings.
