ABC explores AIDS in Africa online

Cyberbiz Brief

ABCNews.com will premiere a first-ever interactive online docu featuring its reporter Geraldine Sealey on the plight of African children orphaned by AIDS.

Sealey’s report will debut Wednesday on the Web site, combining audio, video and interactive elements to outline the impact of AIDS on sub-Saharan African societies, in which an estimated one in five children has lost at least one parent to the epidemic.

The report comes as U.S. President George Bush tours Africa, touting his $15 billion AIDS-prevention initiative. Sealey’s report will focus on a group of AIDS orphans in Zambia, which has one of the world’s highest AIDS rates. Docu will be available exclusively to subscribers of broadband service ABC News on Demand.
