Newly formed Gotham-based video label Koch Lorber Films has acquired exclusive rights to release Fellini classic “La Dolce Vita.”
Label says it will release a digitally remastered DVD edition of the original 1960 uncut Italian version with new subtitles and bonus features. The film has not previously been available on DVD in the U.S., and it is due in stores in September.
Company was set up earlier this by year Richard Lorber (former head of Fox Lorber, now Wellspring) and indie music distributor Koch Entertainment. Label is actively buying up rights to a range of classic and foreign cinema titles and expects to announce more in the future.
Its first acquisition was feature docu “The Ballad of Bering Strait,” produced by Nina Gilden Seavey, about a group of Russian teenagers who came to Nashville to make it as country music stars.
