German telco giant Deutsche Telekom is in talks with Disney for content as it gears up to launch a video-on-demand service at the end of the year.
Deutsche Telekom’s Internet division, T-Online, is also in talks with other studios for film rights to create a library for the new service.
T-Online marketing chief Burkhard Grassmann said negotiations with Disney were on a good course.
The Telekom division has seen business for pay content steadily increase in recent years and in the first quarter of 2003 posted a pre-tax profit for the first time. Company has 12.5 million customers.
