MSNBC, Brokaw host prez debate

All nine Dem candidates expected to participate

MSNBC said Tuesday it will telecast a live presidential debate from Des Moines, Iowa, on Nov. 24, with NBC News’ Tom Brokaw moderating.

All nine of the 2004 Democratic prez candidates are expected to participate in the debate, which will air at 4 p.m. (ET) on cabler MSNBC; it will be simulcast on WHO-TV, NBC’s Des Moines affil. Debate will be rerun on MSNBC at 9 and 11 p.m. ET.

“We’re proud to have Tom Brokaw moderate, bringing his extensive experience covering national politics to this important event, which comes at a pivotal time of growing intensity and interest in the battle for the White House,” MSNBC prexy Erik Sorenson said.

Brokaw is anchor and managing editor of “NBC Nightly News.”
