HOLLYWOOD — Twentieth Television, Fox’s syndie arm, will launch a regional test of daily half-hour dating show “Ex-treme Dating” on eight Fox-owned UPN affiliates, including stations in Gotham and Los Angeles, starting July 29.
Show sends people out on their dream date with the person perfectly profiled to match, with the catch that throughout the date, two of the dreamboat’s exes will be able to converse with and provide intimate details to the dream date.
Pending the show’s performance, the show could be rolled out as a nationally syndicated series.
Twentieth has cleared the “Ex-treme Dating” test, length of which is to be determined, in early fringe or late fringe on the following stations: WWOR New York, KCOP Los Angeles, WDCA Washington, D.C., KTXH Houston, KMSP Minneapolis, KUTP Phoenix, WRBW Orlando and WUTB Baltimore.
In New York, the show will air at 11 p.m., with the UPN 9 News as its lead-in. In Los Angeles, the show will air at 6:30 p.m. between two runs of “Blind Date.”
Announcement of a host is expected in the near future.
