‘Survivor’ 5 alive, thriving

Morning Ratings Flash - Rick Kissell

“Survivor: Thailand,” the fifth edition of CBS’ “Survivor” franchise, bowed to big ratings Thursday night, as an average of roughly 22 million viewers watched the opener, according to Nielsen preliminary nationals. That’s about on par with the last two editions. It fared even better among adults 18-49 (prelim 9.2/27) and adults 18-34 (8.8/27) – up vs. the “Survivor 4” premiere.

CBS, which easily won the night, also saw its best numbers across the board this summer for “Big Brother” (prelim 15 million, 6.7/18 in A18-49), which followed “Survivor.”

NBC was second on the night with repeats of its season finales from last May, led by “Will & Grace” (6.1/16 in A18-49).

ABC’s “Push, Nevada” managed only a 2.4/6 in adults 18-49 with its first Thursday outing but did put up some solid male demos.
