Rose’s int’l bloom

World Brief

Pasadena’s famous New Year’s Day Rose Parade will be seen in China, New Zealand and Russia next year, thanks to a pact between the Tournament of Roses and KTLA/Channel 5/Tribune Los Angeles, the pioneer TV outlet for the event since 1947.

Dick Block, who heads the Tournament intl. distribution initiative, says many other territories are pending.

This year’s parade was seen by 34.5 million people in the U.S, placing it 11th nationally among all scheduled programming for the 2002-2003 TV season.

KTLA, Channel 5, is The WB affiliate in L.A. and a Tribune Broadcasting station.
