Morning Ratings Flash - Rick Kissell

ABC inched ahead among adults 18-49 for a second straight Monday thanks to “Monday Night Football” but CBS was a strong No. 2 and the leader in adults 25-54, female demos and total viewers, according to preliminary nationals from Nielsen.

CBS was paced by “Everybody Loves Raymond,” which led its 9 o’clock slot (7.5/17 in adults 18-49, 20.9 million viewers overall). Net’s strong rookie drama “CSI: Miami” delivered a 7.1/18 in 18-49 and about 20 million viewers.

NBC was a solid third and up year-to-year thanks to a season high for “Fear Factor” (5.8/14 in 18-49), which led the 8 p.m. hour in the demo.

Fox’s “Boston Public” fell to another firstrun low in 18-49 (3.5/8), and 9 o’clock spec “Funniest Game Show Moments 2” pitched in with a 3.6/8.

Reliable numbers weren’t available for ABC’s “Monday Night Football,” but the Raiders-Broncos appears to have delivered some of the franchise’s strongest ratings this season.

Preliminary 18-49 averages for the night: ABC, 6.5/16; CBS, 6.3/15; NBC, 4.8/12; Fox, 3.5/5.

Preliminary total-viewer averages: CBS, 17.6 million; ABC, 16.2 million; NBC, 11.7 million; Fox, 8.6 million.
