HOLLYWOOD — NBC is really going to the dogs with its next reality project.
Coming Thanksgiving Day, the net will roll out “The National Dog Show,” chronicling Philadelphia’s annual Kennel Club canine competish.
Show, hosted by John O’Hurley (“Seinfeld’s” J. Peterman), will air Nov. 28, directly after the Peacock’s live (noon-2 p.m. ET) coverage of the Macy’s Day Parade.
Highlights of the event include awarding of the best in show trophy to one lucky pooch among the 3,000 participating.
“We have observed there are few things that families get more passionate about than their pets,” said NBC West Coast prexy Scott Sassa. “We see this as a logical companion program for our traditional coverage of the Macy’s Parade.”
