With Ted Koppel precariously perched at “Nightline,” another old- time newsie is on the way out. “Wall $treet Week With Louis Rukeyser,” a show Rukeyser created and hosted for more than 30 years, is about to be overhauled.
Maryland Public Broadcasting, which produces the program, said Thursday that it will team up with publisher Time Inc.’s Fortune magazine on a new version of the show called “Wall $treet Week With Fortune,” which will launch next fall with livelier presentation and graphics. Show will be produced by Jeff Gralnick and co-hosted by Fortune editorial director Geoffrey Colvin.
“We want to make certain that ‘Wall $treet Week With Fortune’ can enjoy the same sort of loyal following for the next three decades,” said Maryland Public Broadcasting CEO Robert Schuman. The broadcaster hopes the changes will attract a wider — and younger — audience.
Rukeyser, whose contract expires in June, was apparently offered an advisory role on the show but declined.
