MSNBC taps vet journo Sullivan

New news director previously at WNYW

MSNBC has tapped Susan Sullivan as news director. The veteran New York newsie previously worked in a similar capacity at Fox’s WNYW-TV, which she left in 2001.

MSNBC has been in the process of reinvention since last spring, when it hired yakker Phil Donahue, anchor/editor-in-chief Jerry Nachman and veepee of live news programming Mark Effron, to whom Sullivan will report.

Sullivan’s new job takes effect immediately.
