HONG KONG — ABC Cable Networks Group will launch a Disney Channel in Indonesia this month.
“With this launch, our Disney Channel Asia feed has expanded into six countries in just over two years,” says Jon Niermann, managing director for branded television, Asia Pacific, for Walt Disney Television Intl.
Disney Channel Asia also reaches Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei and the Philippines.
Its channel in Indonesia will reach 70% of pay television homes and will be offered in English, with plans to dub into Bahasa at a later date. The channel will be carried on cable on PT Broadband Multimedia’s Kabelvision and on satellite via PT Matahari Lintas Cakrawala’s Indovision Digital.
