MONTREAL — NBC’s “The Tonight Show” will air three segments from the Montreal Just For Laughs comedy festival next week.
On Wednesday, Fred Willard will take up-and- coming comics from the fest door-to-door in Montreal to perform stand-up. On Thursday, D.L. Hughley (“Kings of Comedy”) will interview people on the city’s streets. The Friday segment will be shot at the gala at Theatre St. Denis and will showcase Howie Mandel’s undercover hidden camera skills.
Last year “The Tonight Show” showcased up-and-coming stand-up comic Michael Jr. from the fest.
The 20th Just For Laughs fet kicked-off Thursday in Montreal and continues until July 21. The English-lingo part of the event moves into high gear next Wednesday when most of the U.S. industryites arrive in town.
The fest line-up includes Joan Rivers, Wayne Brady, Denis Leary, Bill Maher and Janeane Garofalo.
