“Pokemon” won’t be jumping to Fox anytime soon. Even though 4Kids will be leasing the Saturday morning timeslot from Fox beginning next fall, they’re in talks with the Kids WB about keeping their three shows there. In addition to “Pokemon,” which Kids WB has already picked up for next season, the weblet currently airs two other 4Kids shows: “Yu-Gi-Oh!” and “Cubix.” Kids WB has the rights to the series for as long as they want them.
Meanwhile, 4Kid’s latest animated properties “Kinnikuman” and “Ultraman Tiga,” which were set to be put up for sale at NATPE, will join the Fox Kids block, 4Kids Entertainment chairman and CEO Al Kahn told investors during a conference call on Wednesday. As far as Fox Kids’ current lineup, Kahn said it’s unlikely any of the shows will stick around next season.
“We’re now in a position to go back and re-examine what’s out there and to determine what properties we’d like to have. The point is to develop a hit block where every show has a history of success,” said Kahn.
