HBO tackles ‘O.J.’ in doc

Race relations, athlete's life examined

HBO Sports will examine race relations in the upcoming docu “O.J.: A Study in Black and White.”

Docu, which will air Nov. 12, takes a look at race through Simpson’s experiences, and his easy ability to move between black and white worlds as a pro football player, pitchman and broadcaster.

Former Buffalo Bills teammates, educators and activists are all interviewed in the piece, which also relies on rare footage and archival photos.

“It’s not a rehash of what happened during the trial, the jury’s verdict or a typical biography,” HBO Sports prexy Ross Greenberg said. “Our mission is to trace O.J. Simpson’s life intelligently, and shed light on why the events of 1994 polarized this country along racial lines.”

Greenberg exec produces with HBO Sports’ Rick Bernstein. Docu is narrated by Liev Schreiber.
