Joe Schlosser, who has served as Los Angeles bureau chief of Broadcasting & Cable magazine since 1999, has been named VP of communications and publicity of Hallmark Channel.
Based in Los Angeles, Schlosser will report directly to the network’s prexy-CEO Lana Corbi.
He will be responsible for overall communications strategies for the network, including corporate communications, publicity, media relations, talent relations, viewer services and corporate public affairs initiatives.
“Joe’s journalistic experience in analyzing and covering all areas of the television industry will make him a key player in developing communications strategies for the network,” Corbi said.
Before becoming bureau chief at Broadcasting & Cable, a sister publication to Variety, Schlosser served as a staff writer in Los Angeles and New York for B&C.
He also is a professor in the Cinema-TV department at the University of Southern California.
