FX Networks has upped Chris Carlisle from senior VP to exec VP of marketing and promotions.
Exec, who was behind the recent launch campaigns for such highly rated FX originals as movie “Sins of the Father” and new drama series “The Shield,” continues to be responsible for the creation and implementation of all FX Networks marketing and promo campaigns. That includes all print and e-ads for FX and Fox Movie Channel.
FX Networks prexy-CEO Peter Liguori, who made the announcement, called the appointment a long-deserved promotion.
“His work clearly has brought this network to a higher level,” Liguori said, adding that Carlisle is a “three-tooled marketer,” with top strategic and creative skills as well as “a real doggedness to see every penny we invest has return and value. It’s rare to have that right-brain/left-brain combination.”
As far as what to expect out of his future campaigns, Carlisle said his aim is to project courageous creativity. “We’ve got to zag when they zig, which is why people come to cable. Everything has to be filtered through that,” said Carlisle, who’ll also be looking to expand beyond the typical pillars of marketing.
Carlisle joined FX in 1999. Before that, he held posts as senior VP, worldwide creative advertising, of Warner Bros. Studios as well as VP, marketing, ABC Entertainment. He also wrote and produced the series finale of “Home Improvement.”
