Morning Ratings Flash - Rick Kissell

NBC’s “Frasier” kicked off its tenth season in style Tuesday, as the Niles-Daphne wedding(s) delivered the night’s top ratings (20.6 million viewers, 8.5/21 in adults 18-49), according to prelim nationals from Nielsen. That helped NBC win the night in adults 18-49 (prelim 5.3/14).

CBS won in total viewers, led by the season premiere of “JAG” (prelim 15.9 million), and also received decent sampling for “Presidio Med” (prelim 12.8 million), which aired at 10. Medical drama moves to its regular Wednesday-at-10 slot tonight.

ABC’s “8 Simple Rules” continues to look strong, again winning its half-hour in adults 18-49 (prelim 4.8/14) despite a 20% week-to-week falloff. Net’s “Life With Bonnie” fell off a bit more but was still very competitive in key demos. And at 10, premiere of “NYPD Blue” led its hour in adults 18-49 (prelim 5.2/14) and total viewers (13 million), helping clinch the night for the Alphabet net in men 18-49.

Fox was a disappointing fourth in 18-49, as spec “Celebrity Daredevils” (prelim 6.2m, 2.9/7 in 18-49) hit the wall at 9. Net’s comedy block of “That ’70s Show” and “Grounded for Life” was an unspectacular second in 18-49 from 8 to 9.
