Endemol takes pulse

Endemol’s newest quiz format, “Pulsaciones,” bowed on No. 2 broadcaster Artear-Canal 13 Wednesday.

Contestants, who will compete for $68,400, will be locked alone in a room, hooked up to devices that measure their pulse and asked questions. The quicker the contestant’s heartbeat, the less time he or she will have to answer.

Artear, a unit of local media conglom Grupo Clarin, bought the format from Endemol, a division of Telefonica’s Admira. Endemol’s local unit, P&P Endemol, is producing “Pulsaciones.”

Show will preem in other countries, including the Netherlands and the U.K., in the coming weeks.
