Execs shuffled as ABC falls to fourth place

Longtime ABC exec Stu Bloomberg is leaving the Alphabet web as part of an exec shuffle that will see the elevation of movies and minis topper Susan Lyne to a new gig as head of programming. Lloyd Braun, Bloomberg’s partner as head of the ABC Television Entertainment Group, will remain at the network.

An ABC spokesman declined comment late Monday morning, but network insiders said full details of the new exec structure would be announced later today.

Bloomberg’s departure comes just a few months after he inked a new long-term deal with ABC. Braun also signed a new five-year deal.

Nonetheless, Disney execs — including prexy Robert Iger — have become increasingly vocal about their displeasure at ABC’s fall to fourth place in key demos. Just two seasons ago, the network was a dominant first.
