'Price' host to be honored by CBS Television City

Bob Barker has agreed to come on down to host the Daytime Emmy Awards.

The longtime face of “The Price Is Right” will take on emcee duties for the 29th annual kudocast, which CBS will broadcast May 17. Event will air 9-11 p.m., following an primetime episode of “Price.”

In addition to hosting the gala, Barker will be competing, as he squares off with “Jeopardy!’s” Alex Trebek, Ben Stein and Nancy Pimental of “Win Ben Stein’s Money” and Pat Sajak of “Wheel of Fortune” in the gameshow host category.

Barker also will be honored at CBS Television City this week, when the Eye plants a time capsule filled with historic show memorabilia Thursday to commemorate the 30th season of FremantleMedia’s “The Price Is Right.” Show is the longest-running quizzer in television history.

Part of CBS’ main television studio will be named in honor of Barker.
