The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences has gone with an eclectic mix of people for its 15th annual Hall of Fame honors, inducting TV/film helmer John Frankenheimer along with celeb gown maven Bob Mackie.
Frankenheimer, a four-time Emmy winner who directed such TV pics as TNT’s “George Wallace” and HBO’s “The Burning Game,” most recently helmed Ben Affleck starrer “Reindeer Games.”
Mackie is being feted by ATAS for his Emmy-winning costume design on “Mama’s Family” and “Carol & Company,” among others.
Other Hall of Famers — the entire group will be officially recognized at an undetermined later date — include “The Carol Burnett Show” thesps Tim Conway and Harvey Korman and two “All in the Family” alums, actress Jean Stapleton and producer-helmer Bud Yorkin.
ATAS’ Hall of Fame selection committee is headed by Norman Lear, Carol Burnett, Marla Gibbs, Ethel Winant, David Wolper and Grant Tinker.
