Tom Sizemore’s castmates have been set for the untitled Michael Mann/Barry Schindel pilot for CBS, while former “Fighting Fitzgerald” Justin Louis has stepped into NBC’s “Hidden Hills” to fill a role vacated by D.W. Moffett.
Meanwhile, Mitch Rouse (former ABC series “The Secret Lives of Men”) has taken the lead in ABC’s untitled Michael Jacobs pilot.
Deals were among several TV pilot casting pacts to close on Tuesday. Here’s the latest:
- David Cubitt and Barry Shabaka Henley, both featured in the Mann-helmed pic “Ali,” have joined the cast of Mann and Shindel’s CBS cop drama. Also coming aboard are Michael Paul Chan, who worked with Mann on “The Insider,” and Klea Scott, who was a regular on former TV series “Millennium” and “Brooklyn South.” All four thesps will play detectives in the Los Angeles-set project. Cubitt is repped by Writers & Artists; Henley by Bauman-Redanty & Shaul; Chan by Tyler Kjar Agency; and Scott by Epstein-Wyckoff-Corsa-Ross & Associates.
Mann’s and partner Sandy Climan’s shingle Forward Pass produces with Studios USA. Mann and Schindel are exec producing, while Schindel also is the writer and Climan is producing. Stephen Gyllenhaal is directing.
- Louis, who last starred in NBC’s “The Fighting Fitzgeralds,” has nabbed the male lead in family comedy “Hidden Hills,” about a married man, his wife, their three kids and the suburbs. Paula Marshall already has signed on to play the wife, while Kristin Bauer plays a mother in the neighborhood and Dondre Whitfield and Tamara Taylor play another couple. Louis, who starred in former NBC series “Trinity” and “Battery Park,” is repped by APA and managed by Fusion Management. Pilot is produced by Susanne Daniels’ and Kate Juergens’ Primarily Entertainment and NBC Studios.
- Kiddie thesp Daveigh Chase, who recently appeared in the pic “Donnie Darko,” has joined Fox’s “Oliver Beene,” which 20th Century Fox and DreamWorks TV are producing. Still to be determined is who will play the title character in the pilot about a family where everything goes wrong. Skein is from scribes/producers Steve Levitan and Howard Gewirtz.
- Mitch Rouse, who co-created Comedy Central’s “Strangers With Candy,” will portray a workaholic husband-dad who tries to reconnect with his family in ABC’s untitled Michael Jacobs pilot. He is repped by CAA and managed by 3 Arts.
Stark Sands, Leah Pipes and Gavin Fink will play his kids; his wife is not yet cast. Jacobs is scribe-exec producer on the Touchstone Television/NBC Studios-produced laffer pilot. Sands also is managed by 3 Arts.
